Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun




Well, I'm not really in an English garden, just my Australian one. 
It's just a Beatles song reference! 


I love a lot of old bands and musicians, which you can probably already tell from my first and second post! So I'll be using lyrics for blog titles as much as I can.





I wore this new-to-me, vintage, sheep wool jacket for the first time yesterday. It was perfect for going to the market in, it kept me nice and warm.



 I spotted it a few months ago, in fact, when I was leaving the very same market. I saw it in the corner of my eye, hanging off someone's stall, and I practically pounced on it! The lady selling it had no idea that it was vintage or that I've been searching for one of these for ages, and she was kind enough to let me bargain with her.




Fluffy jackets like this always remind me of the one Penny Lane wears in the film Almost Famous. It's one of my favourite movies.




It also reminds me of one worn by Keith Richards in the mid 1960s.
 I hope you don't get sick of me referring to Keith, he only had the best style ever!

Earlier in the year, my family and I visited a strawberry farm in Bacchus Marsh. My sister and I love visiting fruit farms and being able to pick our own fruit! The strawberries were much sweeter and tastier than the bland ones usually found in supermarkets. I was delighted to buy some apples too. They had no wax on which is basically unheard of these days. Next we visited a beautiful, old church. I love how the arches are reminiscent of Noah's Ark. Even the door is purposely designed and ornate. For who knows when we'll meet again this way

The end of our Eden holiday concluded with some time at the beach and a yummy BBQ - vegetables, sausages, onions and salmon.  It's always hard to say goodbye to the beautiful ocean, so I savored the last moments looking out at the water and thinking of all the things I'm grateful for. For the long drive home back to Melbourne, I wore my comfortable Mexican, embroidered dress. A few years ago, I found quite a few Mexican dresses, but haven't come across one in a very long time. I'd love one in red, wouldn't that look fantastic? On the drive, I visited this church that was hosting an art fair and admired this green home! Since returning home, I've done a lot of cooking. Here is a plate of my homemade sausage rolls and long green beans with nuts. I've also gone for some nice walks, sometimes picking flowers along the way. What have you been up to lately? Volare oh, oh, Cantare oh, oh

After 11 weeks of term 2, preparing reports and completing parent-teacher interviews, I farewelled my grade 2 students, and began my two weeks of holidays. I was looking forward to spending time with my family and grandparents, as well as squeezing in some day trips. My mum and I returned to our favourite place, Daylesford. It was a cold, winter's day so we rugged up in big coats which kept us surprisingly toasty. I wore my tartan coat that I recently bought at a market. I had been looking for a big, long coat for some time as well as watching Gilmore Girls and admiring all of the beautiful coats worn on the show. So when I found this brand new coat, I was happy to hand over my $25. At Daylesford, we first roamed the Vintage Mills Market. It's always fun to have a look at the unique items. I found a vintage, leopard coat. It was a bit pricey, so I thought about it for some time and then decided to buy it as it was a dream item that I have been searching for, for probably over 1...
